As I and my children get older, I appreciate more and more how fast time goes by. As the saying goes, “the days are long but the years are short.” Even though I can’t, there are ages and stages I wish I could go back and experience it again, just for a little while. Especially the first year, which has so many changes in such a short period of time.
That’s why I’m so excited to announce my latest collaboration with the Ottawa Birth & Wellness Centre. I now provide an exclusive offer to clients who give birth at OBWC by providing a special rate for newborn or family lifestyle sessions valid up to 6 months following birth! This isn’t provided by anyone else and this is the only collaboration of its kind that I do.

What is the Ottawa Birth and Wellness Centre?
The Ottawa Birth and Wellness Centre (OBWC) is a community-based health care centre that’s guided by the midwifery model of care. Pregnancy and childbirth are viewed as respected, cherished experiences that have important cultural, spiritual and personal meanings to each birthing person and their family. Birth and care plans are individualized.
And let me tell you about the birthing suites! I had the opportunity to take some updated promotional photos for the centre, which meant getting a glimpse of what it would be like to give birth here. The birthing suites are designed to be comfortable, empowering, and equipped but honestly, you’ll feel more like you’re in a nice hotel than going somewhere to give birth. The suite lighting is soft and natural, including a beautiful glass fireplace. And that huge whirlpool tub! Talk about luxurious. The hallways are adorned with beautiful artwork and photographs. They also have a fully equipped lounge for partners/family to wait comfortably. The OBWC is one of three birth centres in the province of Ontario.
Exclusive Offer for Family and Newborn Photography
Each OBWC birth client receives a “goody bag” with information and other items prior to their discharge and heading home. In your goody bag, you’ll receive a voucher for $50 from Tall Poppy Photography, which is your exclusive discount that can be applied to a newborn or family session. It can be used within 6 months of baby’s birth, giving you lots of time to get settled and acquainted with your little one if you choose to wait a bit. However, if you decide last minute once your beautiful little one arrives that you’d like a newborn session, please contact me! I sometimes have availability on short notice that may not show in my booking calendar. Also, lifestyle newborn sessions, as we’re not necessarily counting on baby to be sleepy to be posed, can usually be done up to 1 month following birth, even after baby has entered a more alert stage (and trust me, seeing the beautiful bright eyes of a newborn alert baby is something you’ll want to capture).
